Simple Voice Chat
Tiramisu supports Simple Voice Chat for Java Edition players! Talk with other players in proximity using your microphone.
What is Simple Voice Chat?
Simple Voice Chat is a server-side voice chat plugin that lets you:
- Talk to nearby players in-game
- Proximity-based audio (closer = louder)
- Mute/unmute yourself
- Adjust volume for individual players
- Create private voice groups
Installation
For Java Edition Players
Download: Simple Voice Chat on Modrinth
- Visit the Modrinth page
- Download the mod version for your Minecraft version
- Install it in your mods folder
- Restart Minecraft
- Connect to the server and press

Requirements
- ✅ Minecraft Java Edition
- ✅ Fabric or Forge mod loader
- ✅ Microphone
- ✅ Java 17 or higher (for newer MC versions)
How to Use
Once installed:
- Press
Vto open the voice chat settings - Select your microphone from the device list
- Test your audio to ensure it's working
- Adjust volumes for input and output
- Press your PTT key (default: Caps Lock) to talk
- Or enable voice activation mode
Default Keybinds
- V - Open voice chat settings
- Caps Lock - Push to talk (default)
- M - Mute/unmute yourself
- N - Toggle voice chat on/off
Important Notes
Bedrock Edition
❌ Voice chat is NOT available for Bedrock Edition players
This is a Java-only feature. Bedrock players can still play on the server but won't hear or be heard in voice chat.
Privacy
- Voice chat is proximity-based (25-50 block range by default)
- You can mute yourself at any time
- Other players can't hear you if you're too far away
- Voice data is encrypted
Troubleshooting
Can't hear anyone?
- Check your output device in voice chat settings (V)
- Make sure voice chat is enabled (N)
- Verify your volume isn't muted
- Ensure other players are close enough
Nobody can hear you?
- Check microphone permissions in your OS
- Select the correct microphone in settings (V)
- Test your mic in the settings menu
- Make sure you're not muted (M)
Mod not working?
- Verify you downloaded the correct version
- Make sure you have Fabric or Forge installed
- Check that the mod is in the
modsfolder - Restart Minecraft after installing

You can customize voice chat settings:
- Push to talk vs Voice activation
- Proximity distance
- Volume levels
- Keybinds
- Audio quality
Access all settings by pressing V in-game.
